What is Spred

"When can I see God again?"

This is a question that Niamh, one of our friends in the Dundalk group, often asks especially during the holidays. It shows that she really misses the Spred group when it is not on. It is also obvious that she is experiencing something very special when she attends a Spred session.

What is Spred?

SPRED stands for SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION. Spred consits of small groups of people in parishes who come together to form little communities of faith and friendship with people who have learning disabilities. The groups grow together by following an appropriate method of catechesis designed and arranged to meet their needs. Our aim is to prepare the way for our friends for full participation in the liturgical life of parish community.
